NEPAL A LAND OF SPIRITUAL AWAKENING

Land of spiritual seeking

This land which we call as the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal has been a major land for spirituality. The mountainous topographical feature has allowed for thousands of Rishis, Rishikas, and Swamis to seek spirituality and master the existential reality. This land was and is a major pilgrimage destination for the world’s two major religions Hinduism and Buddhism. In the legendary scriptures of the Vedic Sanaatan Dharma this land has been referred by many names. This land has been a perfect place for the ancient prophets of this culture to perform austerities in order to gain the knowledge that they attained. In the local term this land is also known as the Tapobhumi of the Devas which literally means “The Land where the Devas performed their austerities to attain the status of God “. This land is also known as the land of the Shiva, who is revered by many of the Hindus and the non-Hindus of the world. Shiva who is also known by the name Adiyogi or the first yogi is believed to have propounded the knowledge of the Yoga to the seven sages. The fact the people of this land Shiva so much is because, Shaivism is probably the only culture in the world which talks about how a human being can become divine or Shiva himself. This ancient culture is by far the most liberal form of spirituality in the world. Because the idea of spirituality in this land was never about following any realized being but rather seeking for the realization himself or herself. That’s the reason we like to be called seekers rather than believers. That particular attitude led Siddhartha Gautama a crown prince turning into the Lord Buddha, who in modern days is revered by both theists and atheists throughout the world.
