Everest region for trekking



Everest or Sagarmatha whatever they call this mountain, has been one of the most influential peaks in the socio-economic sector of the people of the country. As being the highest elevated peak in the world, it intrigues people from all over the world to at least have a glimpse once in their lifetime. The dream of summiting this peak might be out of most of the people's league due to high royalty fees and a lot of other reasons.


Therefore the most convenient way to experience is trekking or hiking. This region has a wide variety of trekking options. This trek starts and ends in Lukla, a small Sherpa town with the infamous Tenzing Hillary Airstrip. As the landscape of this region is very irregular it provides trekkers the challenge and motivation for doing this trek. There are hundreds of peaks above six thousand meters, four peaks above 8000 namely Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.


This region comprises a lot of glaciers that feed the ever-flowing rivers. The number of glacial lakes in this region is very high. Gokyo lake 4800 m is one of the famous lakes in the region. The beauty of this region cannot be solely described by words. One must experience it by themselves. The region is mostly settled by the Sherpa Ethnic community. But people from other communities have been actively involved in creating businesses in order to provide for the tourists as the number of trekkers has been gradually increasing.


Culturally, the Everest Base Camp is ideal for trekking. During the trek, you will pass through the small and large Sherpa Valley. Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Pangboche, Tengbuche and Dingboche are all among them. They have a unique lifestyle as well as clothing and traditions. Hospitality is synonymous when we talk about Sherpa. They are guided by the spirit because they are influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Many monasteries and Chhortens are located on the trail leading to the EBC, such as the Pangboche Monastery and the Tengboche Monastery.
